A women's Six Nations match between Scotland and France has been postponed after a player from the home team tested positive for coronavirus.

The clash was due to take place today at Scotstoun Stadium in Glasgow.

It was postponed yesterday, however, after it was revealed a player had contracted coronavirus.

The player in question has been admitted to a health facility but is well, while seven members of management and players are self-isolating.

"We are pleased that our player is doing well and that all the correct medical procedures have been followed and continue to be followed," said Scottish Rugby Union's chief medical officer James Robson.

"We are working with the Scottish Government in continuing to observe and follow National Health Service advice."

Scotland are still set to play France in the men's Six Nations at Murrayfield in Edinburgh tomorrow.

The Scottish women's team had returned from northern Italy last week after their match with the country, due to take place in Legano, was also postponed.

Italy has been badly affected by coronavirus, with more than 4,600 confirmed cases and 197 deaths.

All of their remaining matches in both the men's and women's Six Nations have also been postponed.

The outbreak of coronavirus has wreaked havoc on the global sporting calendar.

So far, more than 102,000 people have been infected worldwide, with 3,500 deaths.
