The entry process is now open for the inaugural International Blind Sports Federation (IBSA) Blind Football Women's World Championships in Nigeria.

Competition is currently scheduled for between November 21 and 26 in Enugu, and will be hosted at the Bina Foundation National Blind Football Academy.

It will be the first worldwide blind football tournament to ever take place in Africa.

Twelve countries from four continents are expected to take part with the entry form now available.

Players can be from the B1, B2 or B3 classifications after IBSA relaxed its rules to encourage the development of the women's game.

In the men's game, which is part of the Paralympic programme, players who are completely blind, B1, play separately to those who are partially sighted, B2 and B3.

IBSA has been developing women's blind football over the past three years, with development camps and tournaments held in Vienna in 2017 and Tokyo last February.

A deadline for entries of April 30 has been set for the World Championships.

Enugu hosted the Blind Football African Championships in January.
