British Blind Sport have announced a Live Workout Week to help people remain active during the coronavirus lockdown period.

The organisation said the audio described workouts will be delivered via the app Zoom, with links provided through their Facebook group.

The “British Blind Sport: Stay In Work Out” group has been established to enable people to swap their home workout tips.

Workouts will begin on Monday (April 6) with a programme titled “Boxercise with Able2B” at noon, while the following day will see “Meditation with Blind Ambition” take place at 5.30pm (BST).

Dance with Synergy Dance Ltd will take place on Wednesday (April 8) at 5.30pm, with “HIIT with Inclusive Fitness Training” held the following day at the same time.

The week will conclude with Yoga with Synergy Dance Ltd at 5.30pm on Friday (April 10).

British Blind Sport said a staff member will be present during the workouts to answer any questions raised during the session.

British Blind Sport are working with Sport England to encourage people to take part in the workouts.

The organisation highlighted the importance of physical activity during the lockdown period.

British Blind Sport said exercise will help to reduce stress, improve mental health and boost the immune system.

The UK Government has advised the public to stay at home during the outbreak in order to slow the spread of coronavirus.

Over 41,000 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Britain to date, with more than 4,300 deaths reported.

Over 1.1 million coronavirus cases have been reported worldwide, with over 61,000 deaths.
