Speed Skating Canada has announced a partnership with Interpodia to deliver a new membership management platform.

The governing body announced in January that it would identify and implement a new digital infrastructure that would replace the current member and affiliation system.

Following a request for proposals over the past few months, Speed Skating Canada decided to partner with Interpodia, a technology and online solutions provider that powers flexible, sport-specific platforms for sporting organisations, clubs and events.

"Speed Skating Canada is thrilled to partner with Interpodia in the development of a membership management platform that will power our sport across Canada," Susan Auch, Speed Skating Canada chief executive, said.

"Interpodia’s experience and innovative solutions will help us better serve our existing speed skating community and drive growth in membership, both critical elements of our organisation’s strategic plan."

Interpodia has worked alongside sporting organisations since 2009 and is headquartered in Vancouver in British Columbia.

Its client base includes a wide range of Canadian sporting organisations, including Canada Snowboard, Cycling Canada, Badminton Canada, Triathlon Canada, Equestrian Canada and the Canadian Fencing Federation.

In addition to membership management and event registration tools, Speed Skating Canada and its member organisations will have access to Interpodia’s growing collection of modern features, including digital waiver management, digital membership cards, safe sport compliance tracking, fundraising pages and more.

The new system is expected to launch in August, with individual transition plans worked out over the coming months.
