Russian Para athletes have joined together to post their workouts from home to promote healthy activity while social restrictions are in place during the coronavirus crisis.

A campaign by the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) is using social media to engage with its community under the name "Sport #BezPredgrad" or in English, Sport #WithoutBarriers and also uses the hashtag #traintogether.

Posting on social media networks, VK, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube; aims to provide additional motivation for physical education and sport.

Each workout is shown in three parts: Para athletes showing their training during their self-isolation, speaking about challenges they have had to overcome in their life and answering questions from fans.

RPC vice president Pavel Rozhkov said "RPC and All-Russian Federation of Sports for Disabled Persons constantly monitor the health status of our athletes and coaches.

"Specialists of the RPC are included in online groups along with members of the Russian national teams and report on their health every day.

"Everyone who is not indifferent to the Paralympic sport can see how athletes train in the new conditions and find out more about their living destinies."

Those who have taken part so far include Para swimmer Timur Reuf and Para table tennis player Maria Galkina.

There are currently more than 42,800 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Russia which has resulted in the deaths of 361 people.
