The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) met virtually for the first time during the coronavirus pandemic.

POA President Syed Arif Hasan initiated the virtual meeting, inviting representatives from national governing bodies and provincial Olympic organisations. 

Muhammad Inam Butt, POA Athletes' Commission chair, was also present.

During the session, a working group was formed to monitor the training regimes of athletes during the pandemic.

The sports community of Pakistan were also urged to develop strategies to reduce the risk of spreading coronavirus during sporting activities. 

Efforts by the Karachi Sports Forum to help affected sports personnel during the coronavirus crisis were applauded. 

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to continue discussions virtually during the crisis. 

Pakistan has reported more than 40,000 cases of coronavirus, resulting in 873 deaths.
