The move will allow the IWRF’s members to have access to increased support and advice and a central point to direct enquiries for any further support required.

As part of a restructuring because of the appointment of MLS, the IWRF will bring together its administration, finance and communications departments over the next few months.

"We have always wished to further establish the support available to all our members, and by creating the IWRF Office we have developed a central point to both support our members and centralise the administration of the federation," said IWRF President Richard Allcroft.

"We’re delighted to build on our partnership with MLS Contracts to provide an office and support services over the next few months whilst we further evaluate our organisation. 

"During the COVID-19 pandemic we need to be able to respond and support our members as much as possible and by having more capacity and resource available direct for our members to communicate with is an integral part of this."

 MLS Contracts Director John Timms said the British based sports and events consultancy firm was pleased to provide the support and systems the IWRF required.

"We are delighted to be able to support the IWRF with its requirements," said Timms.

"MLS is passionate about sport and ensuring that the IWRF has all the necessary systems it needs to enable it to further grow and develop for its members and volunteers that support this Paralympic sport. 

"We look forward to assisting all those involved in the organisation to reach its longer term goals."

Founded in 1993, the governing body's headquarters are located in Delta in Canada.

The IWRF announced last month that due to the coronavirus pandemic there would be no sanctioned international competitions in the sport during the remainder of 2020.
