London_2012_Paralympic_logoSeptember 29 - The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has opened the media accreditation process for non-rights holding broadcasters interested in attending London 2012.

Interested broadcast organisations who have not acquired the broadcasting rights to London 2012 have until February 17, 2012, to apply to the international governing body for Paralympic sport to attend the event.

After this deadline has passed, the IPC will evaluate all applications before moving to the next step of the accreditation process.

As in previous Games, written press and photographers will apply for media accreditation via their respective National Paralympic Committee (NPC).

In order to ensure a successful and high-quality media coverage of the Paralympic Games, the NPCs are responsible for ensuring and confirming that the organisations and individuals being accredited are genuine recognised media professionals.

Non-rights holding broadcasters can apply for accreditation via the IPC's website by clicking here.

The London 2012 Paralympic Games will take place from August 29 to September 9 of next year.

More than 4,200 athletes from 150 countries are expected to come to London and compete for the medals in 20 sports.
