The Asian Handball Federation (AHF) has rescheduled five continental championships as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This year's Men's Asian Junior Championship and Men's Asian Youth Championship have both been moved for the second time and shifted into 2021.

The junior event, for under-20 players, was scheduled for Shiraz in Iran between July 10 and 21 before it was moved to between October 3 and 13.

Almaty in Kazakhstan was due to host the youth competition for under 18s between August 15 and 26, before its first rescheduling to between October 24 and November 3.

Both competitions will now take place in mid-March, it is hoped.

The Men's and Women's Asian Youth Beach Handball Championships have also been re-scheduled for 2021, with dates in February planned.

This competition was due to take place in Thai capital Bangkok between April 1 and 10, before being moved to dates in September which also proved impossible.

The Men's Asian Club League Championship in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia has been re-arranged for the second half of May.

It was originally due to take place between November 1 and 12.

The women's equivalent event in Almaty was moved from between October 1 and 9 to between November 6 and 14 and is now planned for the first half of April.

Asian handball has also been impacted by the postponement of the 2020 Asian Beach Games in Chinese city Sanya.

The event, where beach handball is a sport, will now be held from April 2 to 10.

Organisers were forced to postpone the Games, originally planned for between November 28 and December 6 this year, after the Chinese Government decided to cancel the majority of international sporting events for the rest of 2020.
