Botswana National Olympic Committee (BNOC) chief executive Tuelo Serufho has been appointed to the same position in an acting capacity at the country's national governing body for sport.

Serufho is set to serve as acting chief executive of the Botswana National Sports Commission (BNSC) for a period of up to six months.

He will hold the position while the BNSC conducts a recruitment process to find a replacement for Falcon Sedimo, whose contract expires on September 30.

BNOC President Botsang Tshenyego told the Daily News the organisation had given Serufho, who has been the National Olympic Committee's chief executive for 10 years, permission to assume the role at the BNSC.

Serufho is expected to hold both roles during the six-month period, but Tshenyego said his chief executive could decide to take up the BNSC position permanently.

"We also have interest at BNSC," Tshenyego said.

"Remember they are the key drivers of sport in Botswana, but in the event Serufho decides to stay at BNSC for good, we believe we have other capable Batswana, who could step in at BNOC."
