The event, launched by the Brazilian Paralympic Committee (CPB) in partnership with eMuseu do Esporte, will be held on Monday (September 21) and broadcast live on Facebook and YouTube.

Para-swimmer Daniel Dias - Brazil’s most-decorated Paralympian with 24 medals, including 14 goals - is among a number of big names participating in the three-dimensional gallery.

"The feeling of seeing my name portrayed in the gallery of the Brazilian Paralympic Committee is incredible," Dias said.

"I have a career that has been built for years, and it is very gratifying to receive this recognition and to be able to help the movement.

"Sport has shown me what we are capable of, it has shown me that I must not put limits on my life.

"It doesn't matter if I have arms or not, it doesn't define me. 

"What defines me is what is inside me. 

"And what I have within me is a very strong force."

The free exhibition is also set to feature performances from an academy affiliated to the Brazilian Wheelchair Dance Confederation, and musician Johnatha Bastos, a guitarist who plays with his feet and performed at the Closing Ceremony at Rio 2016.

Para-swimmer Phelipe Rodrigues, who has won five silver medals and two bronzes at the Games, Yohansson Nascimento, a gold medallist in the 200 metres at London 2012, Edênia Garcia, a four-time world champion in the 50m backstroke, and Rayane Soares Da Silva, who clinched gold in the women’s 400m at the Dubai 2019 World Para Athletics Championships, are also expected to be present.
