South Korea_Paralympic_logoJanuary 13 - The Korean Paralympic Committee has appointed Jin-Ho Son as its new general secretary as the country begins to prepare for Pyeongchang 2018.

He comes with an impressive predigree.

Son has previously served as a director in the sports industry department at South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sport and Tourism, and has held various roles on the international scene, including working on the 2002 FIFA World Cup, which South Korea co-hosted with Japan.

During his inauguration, Son emphasised the importance of communication and harmony in the Paralympic Movement and revealed his strong ambitions to lead the development of sports for persons with an impairment in Korea heading into the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

After London, Son will begin South Korea's preparations for the 2018 Winter Paralympics, which are being hosted in Pyeongchang, the first time South Korea has hosted the Games.
