Motorcycling could feature as a demonstration sport on the sidelines of the 2023 European Games in Poland.

A meeting was held between the President of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKO), Andrzej Kraśnicki, and International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) counterpart Jorge Viegas to discuss the inclusion of the Trial-E discipline.

The electric bike event involves jumping from obstacle to obstacle without hitting the ground, and could appear as a "show sport" at the Games in Krakow-Małopolska, according to the PKO.

Viegas has reportedly already approached the European Olympic Committees to request the demonstration.

The FIM would fund the entire project, while the Polish Motorsport Association would be responsible for organising the competition.

Last year, the FIM proposed to the International Olympic Committee that Trial-E be included as part of the Paris 2024 Games.

No form of motorsport has an Olympic place, but a World Championship in the discipline is already up and running.

"The Trial-E motorcycle is an incredibly difficult and spectacular sport, requiring years of training and extraordinary control," the POK said.

Last month, the preliminary sports programme for Krakow-Małopolska 2023 was released, with summer ski jumping and mountain running notable inclusions.

Twenty-three sports made the list in all.
