Wiebes topped the podium ahead of Germany's Lisa Brennauer and home favourite Lotte Kopecky of Belgium following the conclusion of the race from the Belgian city to the French seaside resort.

All three emerged from a pack of nearly 20 to make the top three, finishing ahead of other contenders for the title including Britain's Alice Barnes, Italy's Elisa Longo Borghini and Dutch pair Ellen Van Dijk and Amy Pieters.

Belgian D'hoore looked to have won the race, only to have been disqualified afterwards for not holding her line in the sprint.

Drifting left to block off the ever-closing Wiebes, D'hoore nearly sent her opponent into the barriers and was deemed to have impeded the rider.

This led to the promotion of Brennauer to second and Kopecky to third, with Australia's Sarah Roy and Italy's Sofia Bertizzolo rounding off the top five.

Barnes finished sixth with Longo Borghini in seventh and Van Dijk in eighth.

In response to her disqualification, D'hoore stressed that she did not deliberately try to harm Wiebes in the sprint.

"It wasn't my intention to ride Lorena Wiebes into the barriers," D'Hoore said on Twitter.

"I felt her coming and tried to intercept her.

"If the jury think it's too much and disqualify me, then I can only accept the decision.

"Really disappointed to end my season like this - congrats to Team Sunweb and Lorena."

Thanks to her seventh place finish, Longo Borghini has moved up to third in the UCI Women's WorldTour rankings behind Dutch pair Anna van der Breggen and Annemiek van Vleuten.

Attention now turns to the men's race tomorrow, which will follow the same route to De Panne.
