Jamie Burdekin_British_Open_2011_20-01-12January 20 - There was triple success on the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour for Britain in Melbourne as Jamie Burdekin (pictured) won the quad title, Louise Hunt and Jordanne Whiley took the women's doubles and Marc McCarroll and Gordon Reid claimed the men's doubles crown.

Burdekin was playing in his first tournament of the season and won crucial points to edge out his South African rival Lucas Sithole 6-3, 6-4.

It was the fourth singles title of his career and he won it without having dropped a set.

Next up were Hunt and Whiley, who lifted their second title in Australia in a week, following their victory in the Adelaide Open earlier this month.

Top seeds Yui Kamiji and Yuko Okabe were defeated 6-4, 3-6 (10-6) by the British pair, who staved off a second set revival.

McCarroll and Reid (pictured) won in more straightforward circumstances, being given a walkover victory after their Dutch opponents, top seeds Tom Egberink and Ronald Vink, were forced to withdraw after the latter injured his hand in the singles tournament.

Geraint Richards, the Tennis Foundation's head of player performance, said: "It's been a great start to the season for many of our players out here in Australia and to end the run of three ITF 2 Series tournaments with a singles and two doubles titles is very satisfying.

"Jamie, Gordon and Marc have all gained their first titles of 2012 today, Louise and Jordanne have done very well to win back-to-back doubles titles.

"Jamie, Jordanne and Gordon have all beaten world top 10 opposition this week.

"It's an encouraging way for us to now head into the first Super Series tournament of the year in Sydney, which starts in two days' time."
