Members of IWBF’s Athlete Steering Committee are set to host online discussions on Wednesday (October 28) and Sunday (November 1) as they prepare to establish the new group.

To take part, Sabljak, who represents the Asia and Oceania zone on the Athlete Steering Committee, says players will need to complete a survey where they will be able to "input how we can best design" the Players’ Commission.

"An Athletes’ Commission serves as a link between the players and the IWBF," Sabljak, who made her senior debut at a major event at the 2018 World Championships, said.

"The main responsibilities of an Athletes’ Commission are to empower athlete representation in all areas of the IWBF, to help support athletes in their sporting career and their non-sporting career and we will hopefully promote and ensure that there is athlete representation across the board in the IWBF.

"However, what we want to know is what you want and how we can best serve you in developing these guidelines."

Due to the "current climate", Sabljak claimed it was "more evident than ever" that there was a need for athlete representation within the IWBF.

"As athletes we have wanted a voice for so long so now is our chance to have our voices heard," added the 29-year-old.

"Please take the time to fill out the survey so when we have our global conversation we can have deep and meaningful discussion about what an Athletes’ Commission will look like within the IWBF."

The Athlete Steering Committee also includes Erica Gavel of Canada, Egypt's Alhassan Sedky and Britain's Terry Bywater.
