Led by race director Lasse Ottesen, the team met digitally with representatives of the World Cup Organising Committees in Ruka in Finland, Lillehammer in Norway, Ramsau am Dachstein and Seefeld in Austria, and Otepää in Estonia.

Meetings continued with representatives from Val di Fiemme in Italy, Lahti in Finland, the Norwegian capital of Oslo, Klingenthal and Schonach in Germany, and Beijing in China.

They were joined by representatives of the rights holders Infront Sports and Media and the European Broadcasting Union, as well as the respective host broadcasters.

During the meetings, discussions centred around ski jumping hills and cross-country tracks, television, media and marketing matters, and logistics such as accommodation, transportation and security.

A large part of each meeting was dedicated to giving and receiving updates on the respective COVID-19 situations at each host venue.

"Even though the upcoming winter certainly presents many additional challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are confident that all our Organising Committees have made clear and detailed plans to deal with the situation," said Ottesen.

"The mood in all calls was positive and we felt a lot of motivation and drive from our organisers.

"We are very excited to start the season in Ruka and Lillehammer in four weeks."

Ottesen is now due to attend an in-person meeting in Beijing to see the progress made at the Nordic combined venue for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, followed by a final inspection of the FIS 2021 Nordic World Ski Championships venue in Oberstdorf in Germany.

Ruka is set to host the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup season-opener from November 27 to 29. 

The health prevention plan for the competition, put in place due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has recently been approved by national health authorities.
