This was the second of two successive days of racing under the floodlights in the Swiss resort, and with colder temperatures and a slightly altered course compared to the previous day, it meant there were two different race winners today.

The women's race saw Smith go one better from yesterday's action as she triumphed on home soil by winning the big final.

It was a dominant performance from Smith who took the lead straight out of the start gate and never relinquished it as she kept the fastest line throughout.

Second place went to Marielle Thompson of Canada.

In third was 2016 Youth Olympics gold medallist Talina Gantenbein, ensuring two Swiss athletes made the podium.

Gantenbein was pressurised by Alizee Baron of France on the upper part of the course but defended her position, ensuring the French racer had to settle for fourth.

The winner of yesterday's event Alexandra Edebo of Sweden could only make the small final, and finished in seventh place overall.

Smith's win means she is now tied on 24 ski cross victories with Thompson, although today's win was Smith's maiden World Cup podium.

In the men's contest, the victor was Andersson after he won the big final.

Andersson took the highest line from the start and used his placement to his advantage going into the first turn.

Second place went to Ryan Regez of Switzerland with Kevin Drury of Canada in third.

Yesterday's winner David Mobärg of Sweden completed the big final field, finishing in fourth.

Today's winners Smith and Mobärg now lead the overall World Cup standings ahead of the next back-to-back races, scheduled to take place on December 19 and 20 in Val Thorens, France.
