Vinzenz Geiger defeated Jarl Magnus Riiber in a sprint finish at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Nordic Combined World Cup in Ramsau. 

The ski jump produced a close results list, with many athletes starting the cross-country stage at around the same time. 

Norway's Riiber topped the ski jump with 132.9 points but was overtaken by Germany's Geiger on the final downhill of the cross-country. 

Geiger finished in 23mins 55.6secs and was followed by Riiber in 23:56.1. 

Lukas Greiderer of Austria took third place in 23:56.9.

Despite failing to clinch victory, Riiber maintained his lead at the top of the FIS Nordic Combined World Cup standings. 

He is on 280 points, with Johannes Lamparter of Austria on 220 and Jens Luraas Oftebro of Norway on 210. 

Competition is scheduled to continue in the Austrian resort of Ramsau tomorrow.
