The process has been launched following the rescheduling of the blind football calendar through to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, which was outlined earlier this month.

IBSA Football Committee says it hoped to have event hosts in place well in advance of the tournaments to give teams time to prepare.

The IBSA Football Committee is seeking hosts across three disciplines for the African Championships, American Championships, Asian Championships, Central American Championships and the European Championships Division 1.

The three disciplines are men’s blind football, partially sighted football and women’s blind football.

Countries are able to apply to host just one discipline, with the committee welcoming offers to host joint championships across a combination of the disciplines.

Each of the tournaments will serve as part of the qualification process for the IBSA Blind Football World Championships, which will be held as part of the IBSA World Games in Birmingham in August 2023.

IBSA Football Committee has invited member organisations to submit their interest in writing and by email before February 28.

The organisation will have until April 15 to lodge a full application to the IBSA.

Countries are able to submit a full bid along with their expression of interest.

The IBSA Football Committee has already confirmed the host of the European Championships Division 2 event.

The competition, a qualifier for the 2022 Division 1 Championships, will be held in Bucharest in Romania during October this year.
