Ebba Aarsjoe of Sweden triumphed for a second time in the women's standing contest at the World Para Alpine Skiing World Cup in Veysonnaz.

Aarsjoe, who also competes in able-bodied races and is a relative newcomer to Para Alpine skiing, secured her second successive win in the giant slalom at the Swiss resort.

The 20-year-old beat France’s 20-time world champion and six-time Paralympic champion Marie Bochet and Russia’s Varvara Voronchikhina to top the podium again.

"I am proud and a bit relieved," Aarsjoe said.

"These girls are amazing skiers and most of them have been competing for many years before I even started with FIS.

"This victory brushed away some weight from my shoulders and has made me confident going into the next race."

Austria’s Veronika Aigner and her guide Elisabeth Aigner also won double gold in the women’s vision impaired races, overcoming nine-time Paralympic champion Henrieta Farkasova of Slovakia and last season’s overall crystal globe winner Noemi Ristau of Germany.

Anna-Lena Forster of Germany was another to triumph for a second time, beating Barbara van Bergen of The Netherlands in the women's sitting race.

There were more double victories in the men's event.

Five-time world champion Jeroen Kampschreur was the winner in the men's sitting again, surpassing Norway's Paralympic champion Jesper Pedersen, Italy's Rene de Silvestro and Dutch teammate Niels de Langen.

Arthur Bauchet of France won both men's standing giant slalom races, holding off the threat from Switzerland’s Theo Gmur.

The Paralympic champion has returned to competition after recovering from an ankle injury, but had to settle for third place today.

Italy's Giacomo Bertagnolli and his guide Andrea Ravelli then earned a second gold in the men's vision impaired.

World Cup competition continues tomorrow with a slalom race across all divisions.
