American Winter Vinecki recorded a first-ever International Ski Federation (FIS) Aerials World Cup win in Moscow.

Twenty-two-year-old Vinecki, who had never before stood on the FIS World Cup podium, scored 94.11 points to take victory.

Australian Laura Peel, winner of last season's crystal globe, was second on 92.72.

With 90.59, Canada's Marion Thénault was also a first-time top-three finisher.

World champion Maxim Burov won the men's contest for the home nation by almost 10 points.

The judges gave Burov 126.24, with runner-up Christopher Lillis scoring 116.74.

The American was well clear of Swiss Noé Roth, last season's overall champion, who scored 103.54.

Whereas Burov has won all four men's events so far this season, so has a clear lead in the standings, Vinecki is the third women's victor.

Peel, with two wins and 290 points, has an 87-point advantage over second-placed Vinecki.

Burov has 400 points, with compatriot Pavel Krotov his closest challenger on 232.

Belarusian capital Minsk is due to host the next Aerials World Cup event on January 30, although both the International Ice Hockey Federation and International Modern Pentathlon Union have recently stripped the nation of events.
