Russia proved too strong in the skeet mixed team qualification event in Rabat ©ISSF

Russian duo Natalia Vinogradova and Alexei Skorobogatov impressed in the skeet mixed team qualification event at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Grand Prix in Rabat.

Vinogradova and Skorobogatov teamed up as Russia I saw off Russia II and hosts Morocco on the third day of action in Rabat.

After three rounds, Skorobogatov produced the best score of the day with 72 to contribute to a combined total of 140 as Vinogradova added 68.

Russia II made up of Nadežda Konovalova and Alexander Zemlin finished second with 137 after scoring 66 and 71 respectively.

Third place went to the Moroccan team of Marirhi Ibtissam and Mustapha Neblaoui who totalled 127 after registering 66 and 61 respectively.

Pre-event trap training is scheduled to take place tomorrow before the first day of trap competitions for men and women on Wednesday (February 3).

Further trap contests are set to be held on Thursday (February 4) before the trap mixed events on Friday (February 5).

The ISSF say the Grand Prix is the governing body’s first official competition on the African continent in several years.
