The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) Extraordinary General Assembly is set to take place online tomorrow as Presidents of the National Federations are to meet virtually to discuss proposals.

Initially scheduled to take place in London, IMMAF moved the General Assembly online due to COVID-19.

Top of the agenda for the General Assembly will be approving amendments to IMMAF's statutes and approving the appointment of Swiss auditors.

IMMAF recently had an independent good governance audit, with IMMAF amending its statutes to fit the recommendations made.

These include the requirement of an Annual General Meeting, staggered four-year terms for a maximum of two terms for the Board of Directors and athlete representation on the Board.

There is also a target for 30 per cent female representation on the Board and to reflect IMMAF as a Swiss entity.

In 2020, IMMAF relocated as a company to Switzerland, making it necessary to appoint Swiss auditors.

"In IMMAF's ongoing bid for improvement, we are requesting the approval of members to changes in the IMMAF statutes to meet best practice in good governance," said IMMAF President Kerrith Brown.

"The changes will also serve to strengthen IMMAF's robustness as an organisation.

"Likewise, IMMAF's move to Switzerland is set to benefit IMMAF as an organisation, opening new opportunities for its development, growth and promotion.

"We look forward to the support of IMMAF's membership in implementing necessary process to finalise our relocation."

The General Assembly is scheduled to take place at 3pm GMT tomorrow.
