Finland’s Matti Surr-Hamari triumphed in the men’s SB-LL2 cross competition at a home World Para Snowboard World Cup in Pyha.

Surr-Hamari finished as the runner-up yesterday, but moved to the top of the podium after a strong day’s racing.

He overcame Britain’s Ollie Hill and Owen Pick, before beating the United States’ Evan Strong.

Surr-Hamari sealed victory by overcoming yesterday’s winner Ben Tudhope of Australia in the final.

Strong rounded off the podium places by winning the bronze medal race.

Japan’s Daichi Ogur celebrated back-to-back gold medals in the men’s SB-LL1 class, after overcoming Kristian Moen of Norway, who had set the fastest time in qualification.

Paralympic silver medallist Chris Vos of The Netherlands won the bronze medal race.

There was further success for Italy’s Jacopo Luchini in the men’s SB-UL snowboard cross.

Luchini saw off the challenge of Britain’s James Barnes-Miller for the second successive day, with the pair repeating the one-two finish from yesterday.

Italy’s Mirko Moro secured the bronze medal ahead of his team-mate Riccardo Cardani.

Spain’s Irati Idiakez Lopez was the sole participant in the women’s SB-UL event in Pyha.
