Organisers of the 2023 Alpine World Ski Championships in Courchevel and Méribel have revealed they are ready to be "under the spotlight" as this year's edition in Cortina d'Ampezzo comes to an end.

This year's Alpine World Ski Championships are due to come to a conclusion tomorrow, with organisers of Courchevel-Méribel 2023 set to receive the International Ski Federation (FIS) flag during the Closing Ceremony at the Italian resort.

Courchevel-Méribel 2023 director general Perrine Pelen claimed it would be a "very important moment".

"Tomorrow we can live a very important moment for us," she said.

"It will be the handover with Cortina d'Ampezzo and it will be a kickoff for us.

"We will receive the FIS flag and then we will be under the spotlight for the next two years."

A delegation from Courchevel-Méribel 2023 are currently in Cortina d'Ampezzo to inspect and learn from this year's World Championships.

Pelen revealed details of the Organising Committee's objectives for the next edition of the competition.

"We want to structure our organisation around the athletes," she said.

"We want to offer them the best conditions so they can perform and give the best of what they can do.

"We know that the World Championships can be the race of their lives.

"So that is the DNA of the organisation."

Courchevel-Méribel defeated Saalbach in Austria by nine votes to six when they were awarded the 2023 World Championships in 2018.

The two French resorts are also due to host the season-ending World Cup Finals in 2022.

Organisers have previously appeared confident they can overcome the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
