Villavicencio in Colombia has been confirmed as the venue for this year's Pan American Sambo Championships.

The Pan American Sambo Union's Executive Committee decided that Colombia should stage the event after it was unable to hold the 2020 edition as planned because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Sambo, combat sambo and beach sambo action is scheduled to take place from July 16 to 18.

The Dominican Republic staged the Pan American Sambo Championships and Pan American Beach Sambo Championships in 2019, the last year the competition took place.

Colombia was the host before that in 2017, with Guadalajara de Buga staging the event.

After the 2020 calendar was badly impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, dates have now been set for several of sambo's Continental Championships in 2021.

Uzbekistan's capital Tashkent has been chosen to stage this year's Asian Sambo Championships, from June 4 to 6, while Limassol in Cyprus will host the European Sambo Championships from May 13 to 16.
