Norway claimed the final gold of the Winter Triathlon World Championships in Sant Julià de Lòria in Andorra, with a victory in the 2x2 mixed relay event.

The pairing of Elisabeth Sveum and Hans Christian Tungesvik completed two legs each, winning by over a minute in a time of 1 hour 25min 36sec.

Italians Sandra Mairhofer and Giuseppe Lamastra finished second more than a minute behind the Norwegians.

Anna Medvedeva and Evgenii Uliashev of the Russian Triathlon Federation claimed the bronze medal close behind their rivals.

It was not all Norway from the start, after Medvedeva and Mairhofer held a comfortable cushion for their teams after leg one.

Austria's Roman Slavinec was in third just ahead of Sveum.

Tungesvik brought the lead to the Italians down to just 10 seconds after leg two, with Uliashev in third.

New world champion Mairhofer extended the lead to over 30 seconds on her second leg, while Medvedeva moved past Sveum into second.

However, newly-crowned world champion Tungesvik took more than 90 seconds out of Italy's Lamastra on the anchor leg to grab the lead, giving the pair the victory.

Lamastra maintained a 17-second lead over Uliashev to win silver, while Austria's Slavinec and Robert Gehbauer finished fourth.
