The top seeds in the singles draws continued their progress at the Dubai Para Badminton International, although David Toupe of France was made to battle hard to win his latest Group A match in the WH1 wheelchair category.

Toupe lost a lengthy first game 25-23 to Shashank Kumar of India but battled back to claim the second and third games 21-11 and triumph in the pick of the day’s men’s singles contests that lasted just under an hour at the Shabab Al Ahli Dubai Club.

In the SL4 category, top seed Lucas Mazur of France won in straight games against Germany’s Marcel Adam in Group A 21-12, 21-17.

The SL3 category saw another straight-games win for its top seed as Pramod Bhagat of India won 21-10, 21-9 against Abdul Latheef Mohamed of the Maldives in Group A.

In the WH2 category top seed Rick Cornell Hellmann of Germany was victorious against Switzerland’s Marc Elmer 21-9, 21-15 in Group A.

In the SU5 category, top seed Dheva Anrimusthi of Indonesia triumphed 21-7, 21-10 against Maksym Heliuta of Ukraine in Group A.

In the women’s singles SL3 category, top seed Parul Parmar of India was in unstoppable form as she swept aside Meera Abouhatab of the United Arab Emirates 21-1, 21-1, losing just two points in the process in their Group A encounter.

In the SU5 category, top seed Megan Hollander of The Netherlands won 21-8, 21-8 against Neema Stency of Kenya in Group A.

In the WH1 category, Karin Suter-Erath of Switzerland, the top seed, won 21-10, 21-9 in Group A against Russia’s Nataliia Prokofeva.

The combined men’s and women’s singles SH6 category also saw victory for its top seed as India’s Nagar Krishna won 21-12, 21-5 against Nina Kozlova of Ukraine in Group A.
