Floor provider Gerflor has extended its deal with World ParaVolley for the next four years.

It means the Taraflex surface will be in place during this year's postponed Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Gerflor and World ParaVolley first became partners four years ago.

"It is fantastic for our athletes that Gerflor has agreed to continue with homologation of their playing surfaces for sitting volleyball with Taraflex being used for Tokyo 2020 later this year," said World ParaVolley President Barry Couzner.

"Gerflor have been a great partner who provide the athletes' favourite playing surface and we look forward to supporting Gerflor in the coming years at our major events."

Sitting volleyball playing surfaces will now feature "anti-viral activity" against coronaviruses, it is claimed.

Lionel Arlin, the sport federations and events manager at Gerflor, said: "Gerflor is pleased to announce a new four-year partnership agreement with World ParaVolley.

"Gerflor is the official floor supplier for all their events.

"Thanks to the Taraflex floor and its Protecsol surface treatment, players will be able to safely give their best.

"The two major benefits are outstanding comfort and great speed properties.

"The floor also protects their skin while moving and gives them an unequalled comfort of play with no friction burns."
