The International Fistball Association (IFA) will hold a virtual Athletes’ Forum tomorrow with a focus on "Women in Fistball".

The second IFA Athletes’ Forum will begin tomorrow at 2pm CET, with the event live streamed on the IFA Facebook page and as a Microsoft Teams meeting.

The governing body said the forum will be interactive, with viewers able to ask questions.

Preparations for the forum were led by the IFA Athletes; Commission under the leadership of chairwomen Katharina Lackinger.

The IFA says the main question of this year's forum is how the governing body can make fistball more attractive especially for girls and women.

Several members of the IFA Athletes' Commission have agreed to make a point of statement on the questions raised during the forum.

The IFA will present its first gender equity toolkit during the meeting, which is based on a document produced by the World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF).

The WFDF and IFA signed a Memorandum of Understanding to cooperate on sustainability, anti-doping, ethics, good governance and Para sport activities.

The IFA’s toolkit will reportedly provide information about gender equity, as well as ideas and strategies for fistball event organisers to consider to help stage events that are more gender equitable.

"Gender equity is a global topic across all areas of our lives, including fistball," said Jörn Verleger, IFA President.

"Achieving gender equity in fistball will take time and patience.

"Taking a step-by-step process from start thinking about what it means over starting a conversation to implementing a strategy to promote gender equity is a long journey but it is necessary and it is worth to start this journey.

"We would like to specially thank the World Flying Disc Federation and its WFDF Women in Sport Commission for allowing us to adopt their developed Gender Equity Toolkit for fistball."

The forum will include IFA secretary general Christoph Oberlehner presenting a short comparison between women's and men's World Championships as a fact check.

The IFA expect athletes Celina Traxler, Tanja Bognar, Eric Kindler, Karin Kempinger, Hinrike Seitz and Nick Trinemeier to give speeches during the event.

A welcome message will be given by Diane Huffman, President of WomenSport International (WSI).

Huffman is the senior advisor for the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports.

Her focus is partnership, organisational and policy development, particularly related to influencing the safe participation of girls and women in sport.
