Britain's Beth Potter and Belgium's Marten van Riel are set to defend their Super League Triathlon (SLT) Arena Games titles in Rotterdam in The Netherlands, after surprise victories in London last month.

The pair claimed the gold medals at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park and will now lead the start list for tomorrow's competition, powered by online cycling and running game, Zwift, which will feature a mix of virtual and real-life racing.

Potter is in the form of her life and has further shown her running pedigree by smashing the women's five kilometre world record on the road at Barrowfield in England earlier this month in a time of 14min 41sec.

Just a week before, she won the London SLT Arena Games after finishing ahead of British compatriot Sophie Coldwell who was level on points going into the final round.

"I came to London after a big block this winter and a lot of last year as well, and it was really nice to have a race and something to work towards," said Potter.

"I really enjoyed it and I don't often get a chance to do a format like this.

"I felt like I was quite good in the transitions and I practised a couple of times in training.

"I have worked really hard this winter and last winter on my swim so it was nice to see it come together - it was savage racing, really hard."

Potter will come up against home favourite Rachel Klamer at the Zwemcentrum as well as Coldwell and other Dutch triathletes Maya Kingma and Rani Skrabanja.

Germany's Lisa Tertsch, Italy's Alice Betto and Ilaria Zane, Spain's Anna Godoy and Britain's Kate Waugh will also be on the start list.

Van Riel will once again be challenged by Britain's Alex Yee for the win, while Portugal's youngster Vasco Vilaça will look to perform better after a disappointing day in London.

Germany's Jonas Schomburg and Austrian Alois Knabl could also provide a challenge for the win, while The Netherlands will be represented by Marco van der Stel.

Denmark's Daniel Bækkegård, Romania's Felix Duchampt and French duo Aurelien Raphael and Anthony Pujades will also feature.

The contest will feature back-to-back-to-back triathlons, each in a different order.

Each triathlon within the race will consist of a 200-metre swim, a one-kilometre run on a treadmill and a four kilometre ride on a static bike.

Each will represent one stage of the race, with up to 10 points available in each stage depending where athletes finish.

The triathlete with the most points at the end of the day will win.
