The International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) has launched a new "peace through MMA" youth programme.

Members were today informed of how they can access the programme, which forms part of the IMMAF’s commitment to harnessing sport to mitigate violence and engender peace worldwide, with a view to implementing similar initiatives in their own countries.

The scheme is based on the "fight to unite" project developed by IMMAF Peace Through MMA Commission chairman Danny Corr, who has been acclaimed for the Government supported youth initiative in Northern Ireland.

The "fight to unite" programme will be a "successful blueprint to other National Federations", the IMMAF said.

"The support this project has received from global funders has proven that the benefits of MMA when combined with a focused programme can be invaluable, especially during the tough times we have all faced during the pandemic," said Corr.

"I’m honoured to be able to share this successful roadmap with the IMMAF family."

The programme was presented during the IMMAF's technical seminar week, which began yesterday and concludes on Friday (April 23).
