Russia claimed four more gold medals at the European Aquatics Championships in Budapest after two victories in both diving and artistic swimming.

In the diving competition, Ekaterina Beliaeva and IulIia Timoshinina secured gold in the women’s 10m synchronised platform with 307.44 points, as Timoshinina claimed a second medal in two days following her silver in the individual 10m platform event yesterday.

Silver went to the British pair of Lois Toulson and Eden Cheng who scored 290.58 points, while the podium was completed by Ukraine’s Kseniia Bailo and Sofiia Lyskun who secured bronze with 286.74 points.

Russia also took the top two places in the men’s 3m springboard final, as two divers who combined for silver in the men’s 3m synchronised discipline yesterday went head-to-head for individual honours.

Evgenii Kuznetsov, who also topped the standings after the preliminary round, came out on top with a score of 525.20, with his compatriot Nikita Shleikher in second place, 19.40 points adrift, with 505.80.

Martin Wolfram of Germany completed the podium with 484.65 points, with Britain’s James Heatly fourth with 464.60 and Oleg Kolodiy of Ukraine in fifth with 446.95.

Two more diving finals are scheduled for tomorrow, with medals up for grabs in the men’s synchronised 10m platform and women’s 3m springboard competitions.

The penultimate day of action in the artistic swimming discipline saw three more titles decided in the women’s duet free, mixed duet free and team free competitions.

In the women’s duet free Russia claimed gold with 97.9000, with silver going to Ukraine on 94.3333 and Austria completing the podium with 90.8667.

The mixed duet free discipline featured just four countries in the final, with Russia adding to their golden haul as they topped the podium with 93.9333.

Silver went to Spain with a score of 86.5333, with Italy in bronze medal position on 81.8667 and Slovakia completing the field with 76.1667.

Russia did not participate in the team free final which was won by Ukraine with 95.0667 points.

The silver medal went to Spain with 91.2333 points, with Israel completing the podium with 86.8000 points.

The final event of the artistic swimming competition, the highlights routine discipline, is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
