Home favourite Peter Pal Kiss claimed the victory in the men's KL1 200 metres at the International Canoe Federation (ICF) Paracanoe World Cup in Szeged in Hungary.

Kiss gave the hosts the first gold of the day, finishing in a time of 47.69sec, ahead of Italy's Esteban Farias and Brazil's Luis Carlos Cardoso Da Silva who won silver and bronze.

Germany's Anja Adler claimed victory in the women's KL2 200m final in a time of 54.49.

Hungary's Katalin Varga and Nataliia Lahutenko of Ukraine won the silver and bronze medals.

Britain's Laura Sugar, who is best known for her time in athletics, won the gold medal in the women's KL3 200m by over two seconds in 48.11 ahead of France's Nelia Barbosa and Katarzyna Kozikowska, who completed the podium.

Brazil's Fernando Rufino De Paulo won the men's KL2 200m in 44.22 ahead of Ukraine's Mykola Syniuk and Britain's David Phillipson, while Ukrainian Maryna Mazhula won the women's KL1 200m in 57.52 ahead of Italy's Eleonora De Paolis and Chile's Katherinne Wollermann.

Finally, Ukraine's Serhii Yemelianov won the men's KL3 200m in 40.44 ahead of Russian Artem Voronkov and Robert Oliver of Britain.
