France's Toma Junior Popov and Indonesia's Putri Kusuma Wardani have claimed the men's and women's singles titles on the final day of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Spain Masters at the Palacio de Deportes Carolina Marín in Huelva.

Second seed Popov was an expected winner in the men's singles final, but had to overcome unseeded Indonesian Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, who had knocked out his top seed compatriot Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in the semi-finals.

Popov would prevail as the winner, defeating the underdog 21-15, 21-17.

Following their game, unseeded Wardani upset third seed Line Christophersen of Denmark in the women's singles final, winning 21-15, 21-10.

On her way to the final, Wardani previously knocked out fifth seed Indonesian Ruselli Hartawan and fourth seed Belgian Lianne Tan.

Wardani's win was not the only Indonesian upset of the day, as it followed the women's doubles final.

Yulfira Barkah and Febby Valencia Dwijayanti Gani of Indonesia, who were unseeded, defeated top seeds Amalie Magelund and Freja Ravn of Denmark in straight games 21-16, 21-14.

An all-Indonesian final took place in the men's doubles, but expectedly, fifth seeds Pramudya Kusumawardana and Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan defeated Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani in three games 21-15, 18-21, 21-14.

Finally, top seeds Rinov Rivaldy and Pitha Haningtyas Mentari made it a fourth Indonesian title out of five today, defeating second seeds Niclas Nohr and Magelund in the mixed doubles final 21-18, 21-15.
