Three-time Paralympic champion Marie-Amelie Le Fur is among nine new members of France’s athletics team for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.

Le Fur secured double gold at Rio 2016, winning the women’s T44 400 metres and long jump titles.

She also won a bronze medal in the T44 200m at the Games.

Le Fur won two medals at Beijing 2008 and a further three at London 2012, including gold in the T44 100m.

Nantenin Keita is another Rio 2016 gold medallist selected for the French team.

Keita topped the podium in the women’s T13 400m in Rio de Janeiro, with her maiden Paralympic title following one silver and two bronze medals at previous Games.

Thierry Cibone, who won discus, shot put and javelin titles at the Sydney 2000 Paralympics, has also been selected.

The 47-year-old is joined by two-time Paralympic bronze medallist Julien Casoli and three-time European champion Angelina Lanza.

Nicolas Brignone, Rédouane Hennouni-Bouzidi, Valentin Bertrand and Charles-Antoine Kouakou have also been included in the latest selections.

The nine athletes were confirmed by the Paralympic Selection Committee of the French Paralympic and Sporting Committee.

The committee met on May 12, with the meeting led by chair Gérard Masson.

During the meeting they heard a presentation by the French Handisport Federation and the French Adapted Sport Federation.
