Åsa Llinares Norlin has been re-elected as President of the Swedish Paralympic Committee and chair of the Swedish Parasport Association.

Norlin is set for another two years in charge of the two organisations after being first elected in 2019.

She was re-elected at a Federal Board meeting which was held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"I am extremely grateful to be head of the union for another two years," said Norlin.

"At the same time, it gives me great confidence.

"We have had two tough years with, among other things, the corona pandemic and the Special Olympics World Winter Games that were cancelled.

"I look forward to developing sports to a greater extent, both with what we do in our operations but also with other special sports federations, the Swedish Sports Confederation and the Swedish Olympic Committee."

Åsa Maria Edlund and Maria Nilsson have been elected on to the Federal Board while Karin Olsson Sandberg and Mathias Kemi have been re-elected as members.

The term of office for Federal Board members Patrik Modin, Thomas Wilhelm, Ellis Kivi and Jan Björfeldt are set to run until 2023.

"There is a wonderful commitment to the movement," added Norlin.

"There is a lot of competence and joy.

"Sometimes it is discussions that burn, but there is a will behind doing the best for people with disabilities and their sports."
