Russia's Yulia Zykova earned two golds on day 10 of the European Shooting Championships in the Croatian city of Osijek today.

Along with Polina Khorosheva and Yuliya Karimova she won the women’s 50 metres rifle three positions team event in commanding fashion, beating Norway’s team of Katrine Lund, Jenny Stene and Jeanette Hegg Duestad 47-37 in the gold-medal match.

Then she partnered Sergey Kaminskiy to earn an even wider margin of victory in the 50m rifle three positions mixed team event, winning the final 31-17 against Austria 2, Gernot Rumpler and Sheileen Waibel.

It was a major consolation for Zykova's narrow defeat in the individual women’s 50m rifle three positions final at the hands of 18-year-old Italian Sofia Ceccarello yesterday.

For Waibel it was also a second medal of the day following her success along with Franziska Peer, Sheileen Waibel and Olivia Hoffman in the women’s team bronze-medal match.

Austria earned a 46-44 win over Croatia’s Snjezana Pejcic, Marta Zeljkovic and Tanja Perec, finding the points they needed in the final round after being level at 36-36 and 42-42.

A third woman also collected two medals on the day, Stene, who partnered with Simon Claussen as Norway 2 to win the mixed team bronze-medal match 31-25 over Finland 1.
