Double Olympic champion Anette Norberg and her Swedish team mates Eva Lund, Cathrine Lindahl and Anna Maria Svard have been confirmed as entrants for the 2021 World Curling Hall of Fame.

They will be presented with the Elmer Freytag award - given to all inductees into the Hall of Fame.

Canada's Bernie Leslie Sparkes and Johannes Arthur Jensen of Denmark have also been inducted this year.

Sweden's Leif Öhman, Canada's Gordon Craig and Sweden's rink of Elisabet Gustafson, Katarina Nyberg, Louise Marmont and Elisabeth Persson are all still to be given their award as 2020 inductees due to the pandemic.

Scotland's Mike Thompson, an inductee from 2019, is still to receive his too.

"I'd like to extend my sincere congratulations to our World Curling Hall of Fame 2021 inductees," said World Curling Federation President Kate Caithness.

"Their contribution to our sport both on the ice in competition and behind the scenes to develop and grow curling around the world cannot be underestimated.

"They are worthy recipients of the highest honour we can bestow.

"I look forward to having the opportunity to present each of them with the Elmer Freytag award, as well as our 2019 inductee, Scotland's Mike Thompson and the full 2020 class of inductees - Sweden's Team Elisabet Gustafson, Canada's Gordon Craig and Sweden's Leif Öhman."

Norberg's quartet claimed four European titles in their seven-year run as a team between 2003 and 2010 and won back-to-back world titles in 2005 and 2006 in Paisley and Grand Prairie.

They then became the first team to win back-to-back Olympic golds, winning in an extra end against Canada at Vancouver 2010 to add to their win at Turin 2006.

Sparkes joins them in the 2021 Hall of Fame, being recognised for this three gold medals at his three World Championships between 1966 and 1969.

Jensen joins the Hall of Fame for his work in building Danish curling - particularly at his home club Tårnby Curling Club which is now home to the most prestigious tournament in the country, the Tårnby Cup.
