Kazakhstan and Ukraine maintained their 100 per cent records after the second day of action at the sitting volleyball qualifier for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games in Duisburg in Germany.

In the opening match of the day, Ukraine defeated the United States in straight sets, winning with relative ease 25-17, 25-20, 25-11.

This was their second win from two following victory over Croatia yesterday.

After both teams won their opening matches yesterday, Kazakhstan emerged with another following their tie against Germany.

Kazakhstan claimed victory in a tight 26-24, 25-19, 25-20 contest over the Germans to join Ukraine on two victories, following yesterday's win over Canada.

Both Ukraine and Kazakhstan topped their respective groups with their two wins.

The late match was between the US and Croatia, who both went into the match with a loss each.

After Croatia took the first set, the US forced the first match to not finish in straight sets, by winning the second.

Decisively, Croatia won a tiebreaker third set before claiming the fourth to defeat the Americans 25-16, 31-29, 25-22, 25-17.

Croatia's win meant they joined Germany as group runners-up to make the semi-finals tomorrow.
