France claimed the final gold of the European Shooting Championship at the Croatian venue of Osijek today.

Their trio of Rio 2016 silver medallist Jean Quiquampoix, Clement Bessaguet and Yan Chesnel secured the 25m rapid fire pistol team men title after beating Ukraine’s Maksym Horodynets, Volodymyr Pasternak and Oleksandr Petriv 10-8 in the gold medal match.

The Czech Republic, represented by Martin Podhrasky, Martin Strnad and Tomas Tehan, earned a 9-7 win in their bronze medal match against Poland’s Oskar Miliwek, Damian Klimek and Piotr Daniluk.

The previous day’s 25m rapid fire pistol men event had seen Italy’s Tomasso Chelli, who lost in the bronze medal match, earning the final Tokyo 2020 quota place of the Championship for his country.
