In the women's draw, defending champion Iga Świątek remains the only top ten seed in the draw, after overcoming Ukrainian teenager Marta Kostyuk 6-3, 6-4 in the night session match at Court Philippe-Chatrier.

American teenager and 24th seed Coco Gauff defeated Tunisian 25th seed Ons Jabeur 6-3, 6-1, while Czech Republic's Barbora Krejčíková is also through to the quarter-finals following a 6-2, 6-0 thrashing of the United States' Sloane Stephens.

Greek 17th seed Maria Sakkari pulled off the upset of the day in the women's singles, soundly defeating American fourth seed and last year's runner-up Sofia Kenin 6-1, 6-3 in just over an hour.

In the men's doubles quarter-finals, Spain's Pedro Martínez and Pablo Andújar defeated India's Rohan Bopanna and Croatia's Franko Škugor 7-5, 6-3, while Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev and Alexander Bublik are through after a 6-4, 6-4 win over Monaco's Hugo Nys and Tim Pütz of Germany.

Krejčíková was unable to win her second match of the day with partner Filip Polášek of Slovakia, as the top seeds were knocked out in the mixed doubles quarter-finals.

Giuliana Olmos of Mexico and Juan Sebastian Cabal of Colombia defeated the top seeds 6-2, 5-7, 12-10.

Finally, Russians Ruslan Karatsev and Elena Vesnina upset American second seeds Rajeev Ram and Nicole Melichar in the other mixed doubles quarter-final, coming from a set down to win 6-7 (3-7), 6-2, 10-8.
