CONCORDIA, a long-time supporter of the sport in Switzerland has extended its partnership to specifically cover the event due to be held in Zurich and Winterthur from November 5 to 13 2022.

Through the partnership, 20,000 schoolchildren will be able to attend the Championships while a Street Floorball Tour will take place in the lead-up to the event giving youngsters and their families the chance to play the sport, all as part of CONCORDIA Family Club initiatives.

CONCORDIA marketing director Hansjörg Setz said of the arrangement: "We are very glad to be able to carry out this major event with strong national appeal together with Swiss Floorball Association. 

"We look very much forward to the cooperation and are certainly crossing our fingers for the men’s national team already."

President of the Swiss Floorball Association Daniel Bareiss added: “The World Floorball Championship 2022 should spark excitement for the floorball sport in young and old.

"Thanks to CONCORDIA’s commitment, we can offer children and families many unique experiences."

The 2022 Men’s World Floorball Championships is set to be the 14^th edition of the event.

In total 36 countries have registered for the event although only 16 will compete.

Hosts Switzerland qualify automatically with the remaining 15 teams decided by regional qualifying events in Europe/Africa, Asia and Oceania and the Americas.

The 2020 Men’s World Floorball Championships were postponed by a year due to the coronavirus pandemic, and are now set to take place from December 3 to 11 2021 in Helsinki.

Finland will be looking to win their third title in a row on home turf.
