Britain’s Scott Brash topped the individual standings on the first day of the Global Champions Tour (GCT) event in Stockholm.

Brash was the only rider to complete the course in under 60 seconds at the Olympic Stadium in the Swedish capital city.

Riding on Hello Shelby, Brash finished the round in 59.19 seconds with a clean run.

Swedish riders completed the top three.

Douglas Lindelöw placed second after a completing the course in 1min 0.94sec on his horse Cheldon.

His compatriot Henrik von Eckermann finished 0.19 seconds further back on Glamour Girl to finish third.

Ecuador’s Carlos Lopez and Brazil’s Marlon Modolo Zanotelli also featured in the top five.

Brazil’s Yuri Mansur and Ireland’s Denis Lynch finished on the same time in sixth, with Britain’s Ben Maher, Belgium’s Gilles Thomas and The Netherlands’ Jur Vrieling completing the top 10.

Swede Peder Fredicson, the leader of the series heading into the event, placed 11th.

Germany's Daniel Deusser topped the initial five-star event earlier in the day, after achieving a time of 25.22 seconds.

Ireland’s Michael Duffy and Sweden’s Angelica Zanotelli completed the top three on times of 25.79 and 26.28.

Competition is scheduled to continue tomorrow in Stockholm.
