Ukraine’s Iryna Shchetnik and Italy’s Andrea Liverani earned gold medals on the final day of the World Shooting Para Sport World Cup in Lima.

Shchetnik topped the standings in the R6 mixed 50 metres rifle prone SH1 event at the Las Palmas Air Base Shooting Range.

She achieved a score of 248 points in the final to hold off the challenge of United States’ Kevin Nguyen.

Nguyen scored 245.6 points to finish in second placed.

France’s Jean-Louis Michaud rounded off the podium positions after being eliminated in third on 224.9 points.

Ukraine celebrated victory in the team after achieving a score of 1,845.8 points.

The US team were second on 1,840.4 points, with Russia third on 1,836.8.

Italy’s Andrea Liverani earned the final individual title of the World Cup event in Peru.

Liverani tied the world record by scoring 255.8 points in the R5 mixed 10m air rifle prone SH2 competition.

Ukraine’s Vasyl Kovalchuk was second on 254.1 points, adding silver to the gold medal he earned two days ago.

France’s Kevin Liot finished third on 231.4 points.

Liot helped France earn the team title after they achieved an overall score of 1,899.6 points.

Ukraine and Italy completed the podium places by finishing on 1,899.5 and 1898.0 points respectively.

Ukraine finished the World Cup as the most successful nation, after earning seven gold and six silver medals.

South Korea finished second on the medal table with three gold and three silvers.

The World Shooting Para Sport World Cup event served as the final qualifier for shooting at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games.
