After hitting back-to-back home runs in the inning, the team scored five on their way to a 10-7 win in Puebla in Mexico, meaning they started their qualification campaign for next month's Olympics positively. 

Of the three teams at the qualifier, only the winner will book their place at the Games.

Emilio Bonifacio and Gustavo Núñez both scored runs to give the Dominican Republic an even more comfortable cushion.
