USA Bobsled and Skeleton (USABS) has announced partnerships with FocusCalm and Reign Total Body Fuel, while the organisation has extended an existing relationship with Thorne.

A long-term agreement was reached with FocusCalm, which will run through until the end of 2026.

FocusCalm is a wearable electroencephalography (EEG) headband and mobile application, which is aimed at training your brain for better focus and a calmer mind.

The application is designed for positive reinforcement and repetition, with a series of programmes, exercises and neurofeedback games.

The exercises help users learn techniques to manage their mindset, practice putting their brains into a calm and relaxed mental state, as well as challenging their skills at maintaining a low cognitive workload during high-intensity situations such as training and competition.

"We are very excited to partner with FocusCalm as we head into the 2021-2022 season," said Andrew Ernst, USABS high-performance health care services provider.

"FocusCalm will help our athletes and staff find mindfulness in their daily lives, help them prepare for competition, and return to a recovery state after hard training.

"The FocusCalm app has a large variety of programmes to meet our team's needs, and we look forward to growing our partnership."

The partnership with Reign Total Body Fuel will run until March next year, with the agreement concluding shortly after the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

USABA says Reign Total Body Fuel is an all-in-one fitness-focused beverage, providing a pre- or post-workout boost with zero sugar, zero calories, and zero artificial flavours or colours.

The drink is designed to assist refuelling and recovering, with the product containing natural caffeine, branched-chain amino acids, CoQ10 and electrolytes.

Reign Total Body Fuel will work with the team on promotional opportunities leading into next season.

USABS extended its partnership with Thorne, a health and technology company, through to the end of June in 2023.

The national governing body said Thorne is a leader in developing innovative solutions for a personalised approach to health and well-being.

"We are always looking for ways to advance the well-being of our athletes, and Thorne can directly influence the performance of our athletes," said Aron McGuire, USABS chief executive officer.

"Thanks to our partnership with Thorne, our athletes will have access to expert health data, and we will work with our nutritionists, sports performance team, and our athletes to ensure the safe and effective use of nutritional supplements."
