Hangzhou 2022 have revealed that the construction of the Asian Games Village will be completed by the end of this year, as the build-up continues to the event.

The Village concept will consist of five major areas.

This will include an Athletes’ Village, expected to house over 10,000 participants during the event.

Accommodation for technical officials and the media will be included in the overall Village plan.

There will also be an international zone and a public zone.

Hangzhou 2022 claim that over 71 per cent of the Village exterior has been completed to date.

A total of 83 per cent of mechanical and electrical installation has been completed, along with 48 per cent of landscaping.

The total construction area has a total of 2.4 million square metres.

The Village is due to go into "trial operation" in March 2022.

The Asian Games are scheduled to take place between August 10 to 25, with the Asian Para Games following from October 9 to 15.

The Athletes' Village and the technical officials' village will be put up for sale as residential housing after the Games.

The media Village is set to be used as rental apartments afterwards.
