Iulija Osmak of Ukraine tops the standings at the European Individual Women’s Chess Championship in the Romanian city of Iasi after maintaining her unbeaten run at the tournament with victory over Oliwia Kiolbasa of Poland.

Only Alexsandra Maltsevskaya of Russia can match her six points as she ended Azerbaijan’s Gunay Mammadzada’s unbeaten record to leave her opponent on five points.

Elina Danielian of Armenia and Georgia’s Meri Arabidze remain undefeated after drawing their match, leaving both players on 5.5 points.

Behind the front four are a group of 16 players tied on five points, headed by fourth seed Mammadzada.

Jolanta Zawadzka of Poland and Ukraine’s Nataliya Buksa drew their match as both players moved on to five points, as did third seed Lela Javakhishvili of Georgia and Slovenia’s Laura Unuk in their tied match.

Fifth seed Anastasia Bodnaruk of Russia is also on five points after a win against Azerbaijan’s Khanim Balajayeva, and so too is Gulnar Mammadova of Azerbaijan as she overcame Oleg Badelka of Belarus.

Georgia’s second seed Bela Khotenashvili defeated Bulgaria’s Viktoria Radeva, and is joined on five points by Poland’s Monika Socko after her win against the Netherlands’ Anna-Maja Kazarian.

Estonia’s Mai Narva is the lowest-ranked player on five points as the 47th seed inflicted a third straight defeat on Romania’s Irina Bulmaga.

A draw between Serbia’s Teodora Injac and France’s unbeaten Deimante Daulyte-Cornette leaves both players on five points.

Greece’s Stavroula Tsolakidou, another unbeaten French player in Sophie Milliet and Hungary’s Thanh Trang Hoang complete the list of players on five points.

Top seed Nino Batsiashvili of Georgia has now won just one of her last four matches at the championship after a draw with Russia’s Leya Garifullina, leaving both players in a group of 10 on 4.5 points.
